6.0             Competitions and trophies.

6.1       General

1) The vast difference in pistol accuracy and trigger control in H & P Pistols, prevents graded and handicap shoots from having any convincing value. To encourage interest in the match, and earn recognition by the shooters, it is essential that trophies for different classes and sub classes of pistols be encouraged.

2) For this reason the amount collected in range fees does not have to be related to the value of the trophies. The match is to be regarded as a fun match, which the Club subsidises, to increase a new interest.

6.2       Trophy Value and Information

1) Range Fees shall be from $1 to $5 and only be increased over this, by the Director advertising a higher range fee for a more important shoot.

2) The Director will advertise the Pistol Class or Classes eligible for a “Trophy of the day”

3) Advertising will normally be by Newsletter, Notice or by display on the Official Club Notice Board, but may be by Newspaper advertisement.

5) The Trophy for the annual award of “Van Diemen Pistol Club Champion of Historic and Pocket Pistol” shall be awarded only to a shooter using a pistol as per 5.1.1 to5.1.4 in keeping with the original concept of this match
